Wirework "Work Station"

Here is a confession! I am very "envious" of people who have dedicated "work station/ bench/ corner / room" :) That is why I am quite shy to show you my work station. The truth is I don't have a dedicated work station while making my wire jewelry. Most of the time I am at the inner living room. Sometimes when it is too dark, I move to the main living room but then I will be fighting for space with the boys. Sometimes I work in the bedroom and last weekend I stationed myself in the dry kitchen (see picture below!) as I need the natural light for taking pictures for my up and coming wire jewelry tutorial. And guess what? I love working in the kitchen! As you can see, its bright, airy and snack within reach :). Outside the window is our orchid garden. So I look out once in a while to rest my eyes. It gets a bit warm and hot during mid-noon though, as the sun would be shining in through the windows. To escape the heat, I will move to the dining table just behind the chair here. wirework workstation in the kitchen Do you have your own working station/bench? or you are like me - a nomad...LOL.

Wire Wrapped Dangles

Been a bit slow in the creation department and bit slack in posting. Should be picking up soon. Still warming up and for a start, completed these two pair of wire wrapped dangle earrings last night. Something simple and uncomplicated for a new owner. Wire Wrapped Dangle EarringsHeart Shaped Wire Wrapped Dangle Earrings

A trip to Borneo Highland

We decided to take the boys and the grandma for an outing up country this morning. A short trip to a place we used to spend many weekends before they came along - Borneo Highland and all the streams found within the upper catchment of Sarawak River basin. A place where we can still find crystal clear streams and rivers. william, henry and grandma on the suspended bridgeFirst stop at Kpg. Semadang, about an hour drive and the suspension bridge over Sarawak River. Its about 15m above the river. Water level can rise up to the bridge during rainy season (landas). By then, the whole village would be flooded. Happened few years back. Sg. SemadangThis picture (above) was taken from the suspension bridge. The water was crystal clear and shallow - about knee depth. When we arrived about mid-morning, there were villagers bathing and washing in the river. villagers bathing and washing in the riverI really feel like joining them down there. road leading to Sg SemadangOn the way to our picnic spot. william playing with the fishing netThe boys having fun with the net, trying to catch fish. Water was clear but the sun was way way too hot for me even with my wide brim hat. Henry with his big hatwilliam holding a small fish....and here are the fish they caught. Dont' worry, its catch and release. potential river picnic spotOn the way home, we checked out another potential picnic spot. This one is shaded! Next trip! Overall, it was a fun trip with some durians along the way - didn't take any pix of them though! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! WireBlissMei

Are there moments while you are here, you wonder what kind of a person is behind this blog? ;) I do when I visit yours and other blogs but sometimes I don't dare to ask as I am a bit shy ...hehe. So if you read this post today, ask me anything about me, my hobby, my blog, my life, etc. etc. and I shall try to answer them to the best I could ;). Have a wonderful weekend all! Muse, Organic Swirls and Eddies

I think my muse is on its way home sweet home :). Came up with this pendant this weekend and quite happy with the result. Lots of swirls and mixture of pearls, gemstones (citrine and peridot), dyed coral and Swarovski crystals. It measures about 6cm in length and 3.5cm across at its widest.
