Waited for 7 Years!

Finally it is flowering, after 7 long years. Dearest hubby and me bought this orchid (Borneo Paraphalaenopsis Labukensis) from Sabah and thought it will never flower in this kind of weather. The recent rainy season and cool days and nights must have done the trick. Hopefully the hot spell we are experiencing now will not stunt the flowering process. Borneo Paraphalaenopsis Labukensis This one is Bulbophyllum Longissimum from Thailand. The petals are about a foot long from top to bottom. Bulbophyllum Longissimum from Thailand Bulbophyllum Longissimum from ThailandI haven't been making lot of wire jewelry lately but I purchased this book - The Braid Bible by Jacqui Carey. The best book purchase for year 2009. As claimed, the book contains over 200 braids to loop, knot, weave and twist. All the basic to the complicated as well as very familiar braids, knots and weave are in this book. Some of the questions that has been bothering me are answered by this book :) Will be trying them out with wire soon. Cover page of Braid Bible by Jacqui Carey WireBlissMei

Rose! Rose! I Love You - Wire Wrapped Rose Earrings

The 17ga stainless steel wire is really tough. Notice how I was having tough time bending the wire ends? Ugly ya? I think I better stick with 20ga :) Wire Wrapped Rose EarringsWire Wrapped Rose Ring Tutorial is available at my Etsy Shop. Happy Valentine's Day - IN LOVE with Copper n Black Steel Wires

First of all I would like to wish HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to all readers and visitors of my blog. I hope you are surrounded by love and love ones on this special day and the days ahead. Thank you for visiting / revisiting my blog. Although I am not "celebrating" this day per se, I would like to think that everyday is a Valentine Day for me. Originally I was planning for a wire wrapped rose pendant but I ended up making these two rings instead. This time around I added Swarovski Crystal and Pearl as the focal on them. My favorite is this copper rose ring - 14ga wire. Comfortably heavy and love the size. Enjoy them! Wire Wrapped Black Rose

I am falling in love with this black steel wire. Tonight I made another Wire Wrapped Rose Ring with it. This is a 19ga wire. I am quite sure the ring would look better with thicker wire but 19ga is the thickest I have for now. A rose pendant is on the way :) The low cost tutorial on how to make this ring is available in my Etsy Shop - Rose! Rose! I Love You or here (check out the list on the far right sidebar), if you are interested. black steel wire rose ring black steel wire rose ring
