Jade Koru from New Zealand
This New Zealand jade koru is a present from Ahmee (short for mommy), who is back from Christchurch NZ for a holiday. Koru is believed to depicts a new beginning, growth and harmony. What an appropriate gift as I am really hoping for a new beginning and growth....
I am planning to wire wrap this koru as the string doesn't look that strong.
The jade of New Zealand is generally called greenstone, legacy of the European explorer who came to NZ in the 18th Century not realizing they were jade. There are more beautiful pieces at the jadefactory in NZ.
